I was tagged by Cetta:

1). What were you doing ten years ago?

1998 – Was just promoted to a management position in a very small industrial manufacturing facility in Northern Utah and the grand old age of 21. I felt like I had reached the peak of my career. Ha.

I was in my first serious relationship (first intimate partner, etc) and thought, once again, that I was the wisest and smartest thing ever. Boy did I have things to learn. Shortly I would realize that my ‘Prince Charming’ was uh, being “Charming” to anything with 2 legs that looked hot in a skirt.

Oh how my tender young heart was crushed.

2). What are five things on my to-do list today?

  • Work for my living
  • Pick up my daughter and fill up the car gas tank on my way home
  • Clean fresh water aquarium (DAMN YOU GREEN ALGAE!)
  • Clean disgusting kitchen. I have no excuse for it getting like this since it’s just Caris and I at home these days.
  • Make and eat dinner.
  • Scoop cat box and take trash can to the curb. Yuck.
  • Convince Caris she really needs to take a bath. I won’t be able to get her out of there once she is in but getting her in there to begin with is an exercise in patience.
  • Stop surfing the Internet and get my word count in on my project.

3). What snacks do I like?

Anything with cheese or dark chocolate (not together).

4). Things I would do if I were a billionaire?

For some reason my number one requirement for this would be that I would be one of those ‘invisible’ rich. I wouldn’t want anyone to know. Yeah – I have issues, but I would want to know that my family and friends love and appreciate me for me. I feel so sorry for (most) of the rich and famous… never knowing who you can trust… who really likes you for you or for what you can give them.

I would want NO part of that kind of life.

I would then like to find a way to anonymously pay off all family/friend debt and secure their finances somehow (including ensuring those that spend money like water somehow have a limitation that would keep them provided for in small allotments so they can’t blow it all on hookers and martini’s).

I’d spend some money investigating the most worthwhile charities of my choice and gift them a large chunk (anonymously).

Buy a big house deep in the Uintah’s in Utah or somewhere Alpine-Spring-like where I can be out of the pollution, daily grind and crime. I would love to be able to grow my own food in a place that it wouldn’t wither away under the desert sun like we have in Arizona. Perhaps I would have a large guest house built for my husband to live in (I’m kidding! Kind of.)

I would travel the world during the months Caris was out of school and just pretty much live low key. I think I would love having all the hours available to devote to my hobbies.

5). Places I’ve lived:

Iowa, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona. Though I guess I consider myself ‘from’ Utah as that is where my extended family is from and where I spent the bulk of my ‘growing up’ years.

6). Jobs I’ve had:

Babysitter and newspaper girl in Jr. High. I worked at an amusement park as a rides operator for my first ‘official job’ when I was sixteen. Then waitressing in the winter when the park was closed. I lied about my age and worked in manufacturing at 17 and have been in that environment in different middle-management jobs since I earned that first promotion at 21.

To this day I am still a cube rat.

Tagging:

No one. I feel that if you have made it successfully through my meme (and my tendency to ramble and not proof read my own writing) you deserve a break.

Alright… I suppose I better get things accomplished before the Internet sucks the rest of my evening away.
